Iran Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif

Tehran (IP)- The US policy has nothing except abasement, it has even not created security for the country, Iran's Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif said.

Iran Press/Iran News: Delivering speech through video conference on the congress on honoring victims of  US-style Human Rights, Zarif referred to Sardasht chemical bombing disasters and said that it has two sides; humanity and savage, humanity reflects in veterans who tolerated and resisted and savage reflects in Sadam regime’s efforts to achieve their illegal goals although they do not follow any rules or regulations.

Sardasht is the peak of the Sadam regime’s savagery, he highlighted.

He went on to say that although the use of chemical weapons by Sadam’s regime was reported to the security council by Iran, they remained silent since their benefits were in supporting the US, and the first time they condemned the use of chemical weapons by Iraq was after the end of the war between Iran and Iraq.

Referring to the imposed sanctions, Zarif added that we can not even supply the medicine needed for those who suffered from chemical weapons and even other diseases.

Zarif also went on to say that we all witness that these sanctions exist even in the time we are facing coronavirus pandemic, while Iran showed it can resist, as it did during Saddam's chemical bombings.

"The US government does not recognize human rights when it uses chemical weapons. The US neither recognize human rights in sanctions nor in economic terrorism," he concluded.

On Tuesday, May 8, 2018, US President Donald Trump unilaterally withdrew from the international agreement in violation of Washington's obligations under the JCPOA  and announced the return of nuclear sanctions.

Trump's move has drawn widespread domestic and international condemnation.
