Afghanistan Acting FM due to Tehran on Sunday

Tehran (IP) - Iran Foreign Ministry Spokesman announced the visit of the Afghanistan Acting Foreign Minister, Hanif Atmar to Iran at the head of a high-level delegation.

Iran PressIran News: Abbas Mousavi announced on Saturday that the visit of Hanif Atmar to Iran at the head of a high-level political, economic, and security delegation, noting that he will travel to Tehran on Sunday.

According to the Foreign Ministry spokesman, the delegation will meet with the Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Mohammad Javad Zarif, and other Iranian officials during his two-day stay in Iran.

The official stated that Afghanistan's high-level delegation in talks with Iranian officials will confer on various issues within the framework of working groups of the Iran-Afghanistan Comprehensive Cooperation Document, economic cooperation, border cooperation, cooperation related to Afghan citizens, media, security, health, water, and energy cooperation working group.

Mohammad Hanif Atmar from April 2020, was introduced as the Designate and Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs of Afghanistan. 

Some three million Afghans, including refugees, passport holders, and undocumented ones, have sought safety in Iran over the past 40 years.

Iran spends $8 billion on Afghans every year in various sectors. Besides, an exemplary policy in Iran lets Afghan children attend public school, whether they are registered refugees, passport holders, or even undocumented migrants.

The UN refugee agency has, on numerous occasions, praised Iran for hosting Afghan refugees for more than four decades.
