Iran Press/ Iran news: Iran's President Hassan Rouhani said in a meeting of the government's Economic Coordination Headquarters on Tuesday that the managers and health officials of the country have not given up efforts even for a moment from the beginning of Coronavirus pandemic.
The National Task Force for Combating Coronavirus also activated the Economic Committee at the same time as the Medical Committee, effectively launching the fight on two fronts: the COVID-19 disease on the one hand, and Corona impacts on the country's economy on the other.
Rouhani said: "One of the country's honors in managing sanctions and the Coronavirus has been to provide the market with the essential needs of the people in a way that we have not allowed the inhumane aspirations of those behind the sanctions being realized to create problems and distress in the daily economic life of the people, depriving them of the necessities."
The president went on to say: "In these special circumstances, the country's economic officials are closely monitoring the situation and providing the necessary goods and basic necessities of life so that we do not suffer from a shortage of goods or people grappling with a hike in costs."
Pointing out that in some countries, even in developed ones, people flocked to markets and shops at the same time as the Coronavirus outbreak, but this did not happen in Iran, Rouhani said: "This is a sign of the success of the authorities and the all-out efforts in economic management."
"The most important thing that people, experts, and economists need to pay special attention to, is that under difficult and unprecedented conditions, maximum sanctions and the spread of a dangerous disease like COVID-19, complications and economic pressure are a global problem," the president highlighted.
