Tehran (IP) - Iranian President Hassan Rouhani has said that the country has experienced a 10 to 12 percent increase in agricultural, industrial, and services production, compared to the same period last year.

Iran PressIran News: Speaking at the meeting of the National Task Force for Fighting Coronavirus on Saturday, President Rouhani also said: "Confronting to the Coronavirus pandemic has been an unprecedented issue at least in the past 150 years in Iran. 207

Rouhani added: "When the spread of the Coronavirus started in the country, some provinces entered the first peak, including Qom and Gilan. In today's chart, it was observed that these provinces now seemingly past the peak of COVID-19."

Iranian President went on to add that some provinces have likely reached their peaks in the COVID-19 pandemic, urging the nation to be careful and observe health protocols.

"The government has done its best to provide hospital equipment and develop E-Government so that people do not have to get caught up in long queues," he explained.

Iranian President referred to the slogan of the year 'Surge in Production' in the country, saying: "The country's production has increased about 10 to 12 percent during the first two months of the current year."

National unity and cohesion have been formed in the country

The President continued: "Today, national unity and cohesion have been formed in the country; If we can make this year a year of bonding and victory, it will be a great achievement because we have turned the threat into an opportunity."

He also stressed that the country will defeat the Coronavirus pandemic, unilaterally imposed sanctions when the Iranian nation is united.

Hassan Rouhani referred to the condition of the country's export trade, adding: "In the last two weeks, many of our gates have been opened to our western, eastern, southern and northern neighbors, and non-oil exports have increased." 

Order to the Industry Ministry to produce, distribute inexpensive masks 

President Rouhani said that there are still concerns about COVID-19 and the unknown coronavirus, adding, "Our dear people must continue to heed health protocols and refrain from unnecessary travels so that we do not see another peak of the disease in the country”.

The President noted that the vaccine has not yet been obtained for this disease, added, "Hormozgan province had a white state, but during Eid al-Fitr and due to travels, the province is in trouble right now”.

Rouhani urged people to cooperate in following the health protocols and said: "According to the report presented at the meeting, people cooperated more in observing health protocols last month and we saw favorable conditions, but since June, the level of care has been reduced from about 80 percent to 20 percent, which can be worrying.” 

Rouhani emphasized on strengthening and developing e-government, adding, "Today, the meeting recommended that both the government and the people do their work without travel and that the government provide its services as much as possible using government facilities”.

10 to 12% increase in production

The President stated that the level of industrial production, agriculture, and electronic services has shown an increase in the first two months of the year, and said, "Today, the production has increased by an average of 10 to 12 percent compared to the first two months of last year, and industrial production is also enjoying a good situation".

The President stated that non-oil exports had reduced due to coronavirus outbreak, but in the last two weeks, many gates have been opened with neighboring countries and the conditions of the central bank and the country's currency have improved.

Rouhani continued stating that today we are witnessing better governance in the country through unity and cohesion, adding, "Today, the entire system and the armed forces are cooperating with each other”.

"If we can make this year a year of bonding and victory, and be more united than ever, it is a great achievement that could turn the threats and problems that this disease has created into opportunity," the president said.

National Coalition for Life

Rouhani stated, "Today, we are witnessing a national coalition for health and living, and in fact ‘National Coalition for Life’, and this is a great achievement that we should not lose".

"The experience of the last few months shows that if we work together on issues such as coronavirus and sanctions, we will win, and we must turn the rule that we followed in recent months into a national coalition for life, livelihood, health, and progress," he said.

Referring to the reopening of holy places and the need to observe health protocols in these places, the President said, "According to a report given in today's meeting, the situation of observing health protocols in some holy places, including the shrine of His Holiness Abdul Adhim Hassani (AS), as well as in Qom and Jamkaran, has been excellent".

He added, "But some places such as Imam Reza’s (AS) shrine are not in good condition and the reports presented in this regard are not promising”.

Rouhani stated that the reopening is conditional on everyone's cooperation, otherwise, we will have to re-impose restrictions if people's health is endangered.

Government Help to Corona affected people and businesses  

Referring to the new resolutions of the National Task Force for Fighting Coronavirus, the President said, "In today's meeting, it was approved that people who have been affected by a coronavirus in the last 3 months and also those businesses that do not have insurance and have problems because of coronavirus, be helped".

Rouhani added, "In this meeting, it was also approved that specialized exhibitions be allowed to operate, provided that certain people are invited to visit them”.

The President also referred to the request of some provinces that are in the red situation to re-impose restrictions, and said, "In this regard, it was determined that the framework, time and manner of these authorities be given to the provinces that are in the red until they get out of the peak of the disease, which will be discussed in next meeting”.
