Iran Press/Iran news: "The US has tried to heighten tension with Iran and bully others to follow,” Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif wrote in his tweeter on Thursday.
He pointed to some measures taken by the US to create tension against Iran, adding: "But having admitted to terror assassination in Iraq, complicity in war crimes in Yemen and Palestine, piracy, breaching JCPOA, UNSCR 2231, and IAEA decisions."
Emphasizing the US' inability to restore UN sanctions or extend arms embargo against Tehran, Zarif added: "It retains no right to abuse UN and IAEA to vilify Iran."
Earlier, Iran's Permanent Ambassador to the International Organizations in Vienna Kazem Gharibabadi in a letter to the IAEA Director-General Rafael Mariano Grossi warned about the US wrong and illegal move regarding its international commitments in the fields of nuclear cooperation and creating obstacles in the field.
Under the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) agreement, Iran's arms embargo must be lifted on October 20, 2020, after the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) report confirmed that Iran's nuclear program was peaceful.
On May 8, 2018, US President Donald Trump unilaterally withdrew his country from JCPOA by violating Washington's obligations under this agreement and announced the return of nuclear sanctions against Iran.
