Karaj (IP) - Karaj’s Blood Transfusion Center in Golshahr, west of Tehran, received the blood of donors and the plasma of people recovered from the coronavirus on Laylat al-Qadr, 23rd night of the holy month of Ramadan.

Iran Press/Iran News: Every year, on Laylat al-Qadr nights, Karaj Blood Transfusion Center in Golshahr hosts blood donors. This year, due to the outbreak of coronavirus and to help treat the COVID-19 patients, people who recovered from the disease donated their plasma on the holy nights. 

Plasma therapy centers for the treatment of COVID-19 have so far been set up in 6 provinces of Iran.

The head of the Iranian Plasma-Therapy Project Hassan Abolqasemi recently pointed to the effective role of plasma in the recovery of COVID-19 in treating these patients.

Preliminary research shows that with the plan conducted, 40% of deaths of coronavirus-infected patients with severe conditions have reduced.
