Tehran-Doha agree for joint cooperation in energy and investments

Tehran (IP) - Iran’s Minister of Energy and Qatari Minister of Commerce and Industry agreed as the heads of the Joint Economic Commission of the two countries for bilateral cooperation in the fields of energy and investment.

Iran PressIran News: After postponing the meeting of the Joint Commission on Economic Cooperation between Iran and Qatar, which was scheduled to be held in Isfahan on April, due to the outbreak of coronavirus, Iran's Minister of Energy Reza Ardakanian and Qatari Minister of Commerce and Industry Ali bin Ahmed Al Kuwari held a video conference meeting on Thursday, discussing matters of mutual interests.

"All Iran's required documents for the drafting and approval of the Joint Commission are ready, and these will be shared with the Qatari side so that the two sides can reach final approval at the time before the joint commission meeting," Iran's Energy Minister said in a video conference on Thursday evening with the Qatari chairman of the Joint Commission on Economic Cooperation.

The two sides agreed to convene the meeting of the Joint Commission at the earliest possible time to develop bilateral relations via Joint Commission's assigned goals.

Iran's Minister of Energy and Qatari Minister of Commerce and Industry also introduced the authorized representatives who are going to follow up on the issues of the two countries.

Reza Ardakanian appreciated Qatar's medical aid to help the Islamic Republic in its fight against the spread of COVID-19 and voiced the country's readiness to cooperate with Qatar regarding medical experiences.

"Although the coronavirus has created many hardships for human society, it has had positive results, including solidarity and closeness between friendly and neighboring countries," Iranian Energy Minister noted.

Ali bin Ahmed Al Kuwari also explained the Arab country's situation in fighting against the deadly coronavirus, announcing Qatar's readiness to cooperate in this regard.
