Humanitarianism of Iran medical community will recorded in history: VP

Tehran (IP) - Iranian First Vice President Eshaq Jahangiri said on Monday that the sense of civic responsibility and social solidarity among people is always alive and people are sensitive to the situation of their compatriots.

Iran PressIran News: Speaking at the inauguration ceremony of the new head of the Iranian Red Crescent Society, Eshaq Jahangiri referred to the unknown phenomenon of deadly coronavirus and the global challenge caused by it, saying, "The powerful medical staff and the organized health system of the country are doing a great job these days."

"The medical community has staged a show of philanthropy that will record in Iranian history, and artists, writers, and experts will surely record these sacrifices," he stressed.

Highlighting the importance of reducing adverse consequences of COVID-19, he pointed to the damage done to some sections by the implementation of the Social Distancing Plan.

"The Red Crescent Society - as one of the trusted institutions, can be a link between the people and the sections who suffered from the Social Distancing Plan," he added.

The first vice president called the Red Crescent's important asset the membership of millions of risk-taking volunteers, noting that along with compassionate managers and government resources, this voluntary presence is a valuable issue.

"That's why the Red Crescent Society is on the scene in the first moments of any event," he noted.

Jahangiri urged the new head of the Red Crescent Society to take advantage of people's trust to have a serious focus on the consequences of the coronavirus.

"The government is dealing with two viruses of sanctions and COVID-19 at the same time. Although by God's grace, we can get through this situation at the lowest possible cost, I am sure that if we explain the issue to the people, we will benefit more from the donations," he said.
