Tehran (IP) - Imam Khomeini International Airport City (IKAC) in Tehran has taken safety measures to prevent the coronavirus outbreak.

Iran Press/Iran news: “We have decided to disinfect passenger transit areas, Salam Terminal and Terminal 1 every day and add dispensers with hand sanitizer at the Imam Khomeini International Airport, as part of a set of measures to prevent the spread of the coronavirus,” said Director of Public Relations, Media, and International Affairs Office at IKAC.

“As all of us know coronavirus is a concerning issue not only in Iran but also in the world. That’s why managers at IKAC decided to reduce work hours and considered Interim Guidance for all staff in order to prevent the spread of COVID-19 disease,” Ali Kashani Heidari added, according to IKAC News.

The coronavirus has claimed many lives in China since its outbreak end of last year. Many others have been infected by the epidemic believed to have been transmitted to humans from animals, particularly bats.

Besides China, the virus has spread in many countries, including Japan, South Korea, Thailand, US, France, Singapore, Vietnam, Malaysia, Cambodia, Sri Lanka, Philippines, India, Nepal, Iran, and Canada.

Given the latest figures of the Health Ministry, the total number of Iranian people diagnosed with the Coronavirus has been reached 978 people, out of whom 54 people died.
