Accra (IP) — Kwesi Pratt, a prominent Ghanaian journalist and managing editor at the Insight newspaper, commended the Islamic Republic of Iran as it prepares for parliamentary and Assembly of Experts elections on March 1.

Iran PressIran news: In an exclusive interview with Iran Press, Pratt praised Iran's defiance against Western hegemony. "Iran is significant to us due to its resistance against Western powers' dominance. It demonstrates that a country can assert its independence and choose its own path of development," he said.

"The Islamic Republic of Iran's support for patriotic and revolutionary movements globally has been instrumental in alleviating the suffering of oppressed people. We are deeply appreciative of Iran's role in liberation."

Pratt also noted, "Over the past forty-five years, Iran has cultivated a strong democratic system, and there are no signs that this progress will not continue in terms of representing the interests of its citizens in governance."

Iran's upcoming elections for the Islamic Consultative Assembly and the Assembly of Experts are set to occur nationwide on March 1, 2024. Parliamentary elections are held every four years, while Assembly of Experts elections take place every eight years in Iran.
