Iran Press/Iran News: The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of National Iranian Gas Company (NIGC) Hassan Montazer Torbati said on Wednesday that Iran has the production capacity of over 900 million cubic meters of gas per day (mcm/d), adding that "Iran's gas is being exported to Iraq, Turkey, Armenia, and the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic."
Referring to Iran's self-sufficiency in the development of gas pipelines and a national network, Montazer Torbati said: "The sanctions have had no significant impact on the development of gas pipelines in Iran, and gas exports could rise to 70 million cubic meters (per day)," Iran Press reported.
CEO of National Iranian Gas Company stated: "Iran's private sector also buys gas from Turkmenistan and exports it to other countries."
The Islamic Republic of Iran possesses 18.2% of the world's known natural gas reserves.
