Iran Press/Asia: The Republic of Azerbaijan's Minister of Economic Development Shahin Mustafayev told reporters on Saturday that the creation of the Iran-Azerbaijan-Russia North-South energy corridor would expand the countries' cooperation in the energy sector, adding that "a feasibility study is currently being prepared in this regard."
"In 2018, more than 121 million kWh of electricity was exported from Azerbaijan to Russia, and over 76 million kWh of electricity was imported from Russia," Mustafayev noted.
Iran's Power Generation and Distribution Company (Tavanir), Russia's System Operator and power company Rosseti, and the Republic of Azerbaijan's Azerenerji are parties to the agreement.
Once completed, the corridor, which links Helsinki in northern Finland to Mumbai, India in southeastern Asia, will connect Iran to Russia and to northern Europe.
