Iran and Australia emphasis on developing police cooperation

Tehran (IP)- Director General of Iran's Interpol, Hadi Shirzad during a meeting with Australian Ambassador to Tehran Lindal Sachs, emphasized the development of joint police cooperation and said that combating international crime requires the development of police cooperation between all countries.

Iran Press/Iran news: At a meeting with Australian Ambassador to Tehran Lindal Sachs, Director-General of Interpol Tehran Hadi Shirzad said Iran, as flag-bearer in fighting narcotics in the world, is ready to transfer its successful experiences in the field of international crime, especially drug trafficking, to the Australian police.

Australia's ambassador to Iran, Lyndall Sachs, also referred to the capabilities of the Iranian police and said, the fight against international crimes such as drugs, human trafficking, and terrorism require extensive international cooperation.

Sachs also noted, "There are many areas for cooperation right now and the interactions require sharing information."

Brigadier General Shirzad has said Iran's International Police chief aim has always been making efforts to collaborate with international organizations, and through this benefiting from all of their valuable expertise and capacities.
