Iran Press/ Middle East: Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian has left Tehran for Beirut for an official visit to Lebanon on Thursday.
Speaking at a news conference in Lebanon, Hossein Amir- Abdollahian added: "Whenever the Lebanese officials announce their readiness to receive fuel and cooperation between Tehran and Beirut in the field of energy, we are ready to send fuel to Lebanon."
In response to the question of how Iran is ready to cooperate with Lebanon in energy and fuel despite the sanctions, he said: "US sanctions are illegal and unilateral. In this situation, we export electricity and gas to Iraq and we also export gas to some other countries."
"The minutes of a meeting (mom), for the export of Iranian gas to a European country, has also been signed between us," he went on to say, without mentioning the country's name.
Amir- Abdollahian noted: "Countries like Iraq were able to exempt themselves from unilateral and illegal US sanctions.Of course, the US will not be pleased with the deepening of Iran-Lebanon relations, but we will continue our economic and commercial cooperation with Lebanon in various fields, including energy, and we will remain a friend of Lebanon in the rainy days," said Iran's top diplomat.
