Tehran (IP) - In a telephone conversation, the Foreign Ministers of Germany and the Islamic Republic of Iran discussed and exchanged views on the latest developments in the region and bilateral relations, emphasizing the need to maintain the dialogue path open.

Iran PressIran news: In this phone call, Iran's top diplomat, Hossein Amir Abdollahian, referred to the Zionist regime's terrorist air attack on the consular section of the Islamic Republic of Iran's embassy in Damascus, which led to the martyrdom of seven military advisors, adding: "The foreign policy of the Islamic Republic of Iran is always based on staying away from tension."

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Iran, referring to the expectation from Germany for the clear condemnation of the recent crime of the Israeli regime, raised a question: "If a similar missile attack had taken place on one of the diplomatic places in the war zone of Ukraine, would the reaction of the United States and Europe have been the same?"

Israel is an occupying regime and Palestine has the right to legitimate defense. In this regard, the only way to solve the current problems is to end the genocide and war crimes in Gaza.

Referring to the speech of the German Foreign Minister for a ceasefire in Gaza, Amir Abdollahian said: "The reason why Germany's efforts to establish a cease-fire in Gaza have been fruitless should be found in the lack of German neutrality in this genocide."

Iran's top diplomat added: "When the Israeli regime completely violates the immunity of individuals and diplomatic places in violation of international law and the Vienna Conventions, legitimate defense to punish the aggressor would become a necessity.."

Amir Abdollahian, welcoming the resolution of misunderstandings between Tehran and Berlin, said: "We expect Germany not to repeat baseless accusations against Iran and instead to defend the rights of thousands of women and children in Gaza and other parts of the world where women's rights are constantly violated."

In this phone call, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Germany congratulated the arrival of Eid al-Fitr and emphasized that this Islamic Eid is a messenger of peace. She added that in this tense situation in the region, Germany requests restraint from the Islamic Republic of Iran. 219
