Iran Press/ Iran news: Kazem Gharibabadi announced on Wednesday the IAEA’s inspectors verified on November 14th the start of UF6 gas feeding into a chain of 174 IR2m centrifuges at the Natanz Fuel Enrichment Plant.
Earlier, some media outlets referred to the news and cited it as another move by Iran to violate the international nuclear deal known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA).
Rafael Grossi, director general of IAEA, said in a report last week that Iran would continue to reduce its nuclear obligations.
A year after the US unilaterally withdrew from the nuclear deal and following the ineffectiveness of European proposed solutions to offset the economic consequences of the US withdrawal from JCPOA, Iran announced on May 8, 2019, that it would suspend its JCPOA commitments under the deal’s 26 and 36 articles.
Iran pursued the scale-back of its JCPOA commitments within five steps including raising the uranium enrichment rate from 3.67%, increasing the enriched uranium stockpile, suspending all of its commitments for research and development, resumption of uranium enrichment, and reproduction at the Fordo nuclear facility, as well as lifting the limit on the number of centrifuges.
