Bosnian FM: We appreciate Iran support

Sarajevo (IP) - Bosnian minister of foreign affairs appreciated Iran’s support of Bosnia, stressing the need to advance friendly relations between the two countries in various fields.

Iran Press/Europe: Bosnian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Bisera Turkovi? made the remarks on Monday at a meeting with the Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Sarajevo Mahmoud Heidari, recalling the effective role of the Iranian government and people in supporting the people of Bosnia and Herzegovina during the difficult times, and saying: "The people of Bosnia and Herzegovina will always be grateful for the support of the Iranian people."

Turkovi? also expressed hope that the Iranian people would overcome coronavirus as soon as possible.

In this meeting, which was held due to the imminent end of the mission of the Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Sarajevo, Heidari, while explaining the efforts and achievements in advancing relations between the two countries in recent years, called for maintaining and strengthening bilateral relations in the future.

Iran’s ambassador to Bosnia announced a quadruple increase in the volume of trade between the two countries in the last four years, adding that, the outbreak of coronavirus has slowed down this process to some extent. He hoped that by overcoming the disease, the acceleration of relations will resume.

Heidari also referred to the previous visit of Iran's Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif to Sarajevo and expressed hope that in the future the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina visits Tehran.
