Syrian air defenses thwarted an Israeli regime's missile attack on a research center and a military base in the northern province of Aleppo in the second such raid in less than a week

Iran Press/Middle East: A military source told SANA that at 22.32 p.m. of May 4th,2020, a hostile flight occurred on the screens of the army air defenses coming from the north-east of Athria.

The flight’s missiles targeted some military depots in the Assfaira region, and the air defenses confronted the hostile missiles.

The source added that verification is underway to evaluate the losses left by the aggression.

A regional intelligence source said Israel was stepping up raids in Syria at a time when world attention and the region, including Syria, were distracted by the coronavirus pandemic.

United Nations Special Envoy for Syria Geir Pedersen on Wednesday night 29 April warned the danger of a return of terrorism and the outbreak of the coronavirus in Syria and expressed concern about the Zionist regime's attacks on the country.

The Zionist regime usually targets the positions of the Syrian army and infrastructure in order to support terrorists.
