The Iraqi popular forces have managed to thwart an attack by a group of terrorists on the predominantly Shia Turkmen city of Amirli.

Iran Press/Middle East: The commander of the Iraqi Popular Mobilization Forces said that last night, a group of terrorists attacked the eastern part of the city of Amerli, where most of its residents are Shia Turkmen.

He added that popular mobilization forces quickly thwarted the attack and the terrorists fled the area.

In the deadliest attack, terrorists attacked the suburbs of Samarra last night, killing ten civilians.

In recent days, terrorists have stepped up their attacks by abusing curfew and the ongoing political disputes.

Earlier, some Iraqi officials warned of a US attempt to bring ISIS terrorists into Syria from Iraq.
