Iran, Syria sign MoU in Education Sector

A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in the Education Sector was signed by Iran's Minister of Education and the Syrian Prime Minister after holding a bilateral meeting.

Iran Press/Middle East: Iran's Minister of Education Mohsen Haji Mirzaei and the Syrian Prime Minister Imad Khamis held talks on Thursday in Damascus and signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in the Education Sector.

During the meeting, Imad Khamis called for educational knowledge transfer from Iran to Syria.

While referring to the fact that the multilateral cooperation between Iran and Syria is imminent, the Syrian top official reiterated that such relationships can serve as a model of interaction among other Islamic countries.

The top Syrian official further stressed the necessity of safeguarding the students against Takfiri outfits, adding that the educational system is responsible for the education of the new generations as well as the promulgation of the resistance culture.

Appreciating the Islamic Republic of Iran's support for the Syrian people, Khamis added: "Along with our Iranian brothers, we are facing the enemies' plots as a united community and the bloodshed in both sides in the path of repelling such plots has made the united community more consistent more than ever before."

Syrian Prime Minister expressed his deep condolences over the martyrdom of Lieutenant General Qasem Soleimani and stressed that his blood should be honored. He said the blood of the companions of the same path would end in the victory of the two nations of Iran and Syria.

Appreciating the Syrian nation's sympathy with the Iranians on the loss of martyr Soleimani, Iran's top educational official said that Iran has gained experiences after being through 8 years of imposed war as well as facing natural disasters such as flood and the earthquakes.

Haji Mirzaei also stressed that Iran is ready to exchange its experiences in the fields of the reconstruction and renovation of the Syrian schools destroyed during the terrorist attacks.

Heading a delegation, Iran's Minister of Education arrived in the Syrian capital of Damascus on Tuesday night.
