An area close to the holy shrine in the Iraqi city of Karbala caught on fire , leaving 2 pilgrims dead.

IranPress/Middle East:  The fire broke out at 8 pm local time on Thursday in a religious place, known as the Indians' Husseinia, on Share' Sidra street, adjacent to the holy shrine of Imam Hossein (pbuh), head of planning and monitoring department in Iran's Hajj and Pilgrimage Organization Morteza Aqaei told Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA).The incident left 2 dead.

The cause of the incident is not clear yet, he said.

The fire was far from the residence of Iranian pilgrims, and none of them was hurt by the incident, the official noted.

Aqaei also said that no reliable report has been released on the number of possible casualties, he said.

The videos attributed to the fire have got viral on social media since the first moments of the incident last night.
