The Deputy Minister of Health announced that the number of coronavirus cases and the number of deaths in Iran has decreased in the last three weeks.

Iran Press/Iran News: In an interview with Iran's state television on Saturday night, Iraj Harirchi said, "The crisis of Coronavirus Pandemic has been reduced thanks to God and the cooperation of the people and the efforts of the staff of medical centers and laboratories, in a situation where we are under cowardly US sanctions."

"The most important factor in this victory and great achievement is the epic cooperation of the people who followed the health instructions during the quarantine period," he added.

Harirchi stated, "Until an effective vaccine is produced, we are at risk for the virus and we must be careful."

Comparing the mortality statistics of Britain and Iran, he added: "According to the most prestigious medical journal in the United Kingdom, 33% of British Coronavirus patients die, but our mortality rate is 6.6%. This is while they did not include the death toll in nursing homes."

"We have a long way to go before the Coronavirus vaccine is discovered because the world's current Flu vaccine production capacity is 150 million doses which can be increased to a maximum of 250 million doses, but for the Coronavirus, 3 billion doses are needed annually," he said. "Therefore, we need to try to make the vaccine ourselves and also behave in a way that we need less vaccine."

Harirchi went on to say: "The basis of our programs is prevention so that we can control the disease at the lowest cost."
