Iran's deputy health minister underlined: "In the last three weeks, we have seen significant success in reducing coronavirus cases, as well as reducing the number of hospitalizations and deaths caused by the virus in the country due to public cooperation, implementation of social distancing and the Ministry of Health's efforts in active diagnosis."

"With the gradual trend in reopening, and implementation of social distancing program, active diagnosis, and further testing, the current declining trend against the virus remains steady and continues," Harirchi noted.
Iran's deputy health minister warned that there is still a possibility of an increase in the coronavirus cases and hospitalization in some provinces, but this relative stability is fragile and vulnerable, and any carelessness in gatherings and less observance of health issues can cause significant problems for the country.
COVID-19 impact on the health care economy
The Deputy Health Minister stated that 8.7% of the country's gross national income is spent on the health sector, adding: " According to the forecast of the economic impact of the coronavirus pandemic in most countries and due to the high share of health in the country's economy, the health care economy will certainly affect by COVID-19."
He stated: "The experience of two periods of cruel imposed US sanctions and the negative economic growth show that by reducing the economic growth and income of the country, both government and the people as the main supplier of health resources reduce their costs in this area."
"These two factors put double pressure on health," Iraj Harirchi stressed.
People are not going to be fined
Iran's deputy health minister said: "People's performance in healthcare issues has been unparalleled in countries around the world. Therefore, we should not say that people do not comply and we should find them."
He stated that 81% of businesses follow health care protocol, saying: "The main reduction in the COVID-19 death toll is due to the observance of healthcare tips by the people."
Harirchi further explained that the Corona National Headquarters and its committees have not proposed a fine for the people, but for the businesses and business owners who refuse to observe the health protocols.
