Successful fighting Coronavirus shown Iran has developed

Tehran (IP) - Iranian Deputy Health Minister said that the Islamic Republic, despite having one-third of the capacity of hospital beds in Europe and the United States, has been very successful in the treatment of patients with COVID-19.

Iran PressIran News: Qasem Jan-Babaei explained the reason for the country's success in fighting against the Coronavirus, and noted: "The capacity of Iran's health system in containing the deadly virus has shown that the Islamic Republic has developed."

Referring to cultural beliefs of Iranians to care of their senior parents, Iranian Deputy Health Minister noted that caring for and keeping elderlies at home has contributed to the reduction of the death toll of Iranians over the age of 70, while the highest mortality rates of COVID-19 in the US and Europe are related to older persons.

"Iran was the first country after China that reported its first confirmed cases of coronavirus COVID-19, while some countries did not report it despite the existence of cases," he reiterated.

Confirmed COVID-19 cases have hit 3.4 million globally, with the death toll surpassing 239,600, and more than one million patients recovered, according to the latest statistics released by Johns Hopkins University.
