Iran Press/Iran News: "Iran's medical achievements in the effective use of the health screening system, the national coronavirus mobilization programme, and resuming the operation of economic activities with observing health protocols amid the US cruel sanctions, are clear examples of Iran's success in the fight against corona."
Hasan Darvishian made the remarks while speaking in the Fourth International Conference on Human rights protection in Eurasia and the meeting of the Eurasian Ombudsman Alliance that held through videoconference on Thursday.
The GIO director noted that the US has consistently pursued unilateral sanctions and economic terrorism against the liberal nations of the world, including Iran, adding: "The US has made a gap in the global counter-coronavirus line."
He also stressed that the Islamic Republic has complied with health protocols to deal with the threat of the novel coronavirus in prisons, "However, many inmates in the US, who claim to be human rights activists, suffer from the disease," Hasan Darvishian added.
"The Palestinians in Israeli prisons are currently in the worst condition, and governments around the world should not be indifferent to their fate," he emphasized.
The Fourth International Conference on Human rights protection in Eurasia and the meeting of the Eurasian Ombudsman Alliance, that had been scheduled to be hosted by Russia, held through videoconference on Thursday due to the coronavirus outbreak.
Ombudsmen have a valuable role to protect people against violations of the law, abuse of power, wrongdoing, negligence, unfair decisions in the executive branch, and the lack of good performance.
In 2007, the General Inspection Organization of Iran became a permanent member of the International Ombudsman Institute.
