Iran Press/Iran News: Two sides exchanged views on the Afghan peace process and Pakistan's Qureshi reaffirmed Islamabad's support for peace and reconciliation process in Afghanistan.
On Wednesday, Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif has held separate telephone conversations with Ashraf Ghani and Abdullah Abdullah to discuss the latest developments in Afghanistan.
In recent weeks, Zarif has spoken to senior Afghan government officials by telephone about the regional developments and peace in Afghanistan.
In the Zarif and Qureshi phone conversation, Pakistan Foreign Minister expressed thanks for Iranian leadership’s principled position on the rights of the Kashmiri people and highlighted enhanced difficulties in IOJ&K due to communications restrictions and lack of unfettered access to medical and other supplies to address Coronavirus.
Office of the Spokesperson of Pakistan Foreign Minister Makhdoom Shah Mahmood Qureshi announced that the two Foreign Ministers exchanged greetings on the advent of the holy month of Ramazan.
The two Foreign Ministers discussed the recent outbreak of desert locust in the region and agreed on the need for collective endeavors to effectively address this menace.
In a related event, today in the Phone call with Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs of Afghanistan, Mohammad Haneef Atmar, Zarif discussed the latest developments with his counterpart in Afghanistan, as well as the mutual ties, and measures are taken to fight against COVID-19.
Zarif earlier on the same day discussed expansion of mutual relations, fight against coronavirus, and sanctions with his Turkmen counterpart Ra?it Meredow.
