Iran Press/ Iran News: Major-General Seyyed Yahya Rahim-Safavi wrote in his latest tweet in response to the continued illegal presence of the US army in Iraq, saying: "The US government and its ruling system must fulfill their obligations under international treaties and laws."
"If the US government and ruling system do not abide by international law and treaties, they must accept the consequences of their illegal presence and occupation of Iraqi soil, and the legitimate defense of the Iraqi people, government and army against the US atrocities and adventures is inevitable," added the senior official.
The Iraqi parliament, in a resolution late last year, called for the withdrawal of US terrorist troops from Iraq, announcing that the continuation of which would be considered as a violation of Iraqi sovereignty.
