Iran Press/ Iran News: President Hassan Rouhani in the Sunday’s cabinet session said that all decisions by National Task Force for Fighting Coronavirus has been made after discussions at the specialized committees adding, "To date, we have not made any decision without it being discussed at specialized committees".
“Today not a time for political war”, Rouhani stressed speaking at a cabinet meeting today.
President Hassan Rouhani said, "Some experts say we have to wait for the end of the new year's holidays so that we can talk about the conditions the country faces in dealing with Coronavirus."
He added, "Through video conferencing, I had a meeting with about thirty top specialists and physicians who are in touch with this new disease, and the opinions were very close."
The president added, "They all believe that the Coronavirus is a surprise to the world, and in previous years no one would have predicted that the world would face this problem at this time."
Rouhani stated, "These experts said it looked like the virus and the disease 140 years ago, but since then we haven't had such a pandemic disease that is so contagious."
"We asked all the experts what is the situation of Iran in the fight against Corona? Did we leave the peak point behind? Are we at a point to move towards better conditions? Their answers were that in some provinces we left the peak behind and were downhill, but in some provinces, we still cannot speak decisively," he said.
"Some experts said we had to wait for the end of the Nowruz holidays to be able to judge what we are," the President added.
He went on saying "It's not like Corona is gone in a week or 10 days. It is a virus that has entered into our lives and may last for a year or two, but we need to prepare the country to endure the virus for a while."
"So we have to prepare ourselves to live with such a virus until a definitive cure or a vaccine is found," the president noted, adding that so the effort is not to let the virus spread over a province or a city or a community.
Of course, many experts have insisted that the emergency situation that has begun, to continue for another week, Rouhani said.
Rouhani noted that experts recommend investing heavily in treatment and vaccine production.
