Iran Army prepares 7,000 convalescent care beds

Tehran (IP)- Iran’s Army Spokesman said the army has set up 7,000 convalescent care beds across the country to combat Coronavirus.

Iran PressIran news: Brigadier General Shahin Taqikhani said on Saturday there are 32 hospitals of army serving those people infected with Coronavirus.

"In addition to protect the independence, territorial integrity, and borders of the country, the army has stepped in to help the Iranian people in crises such as fighting coronavirus outbreak," General Taqikhani noted.

The spokesman said the Iranian Army is currently conducting disinfection and health monitoring at the entrances of 21 provinces and other areas.

With the collaboration of the Iranian government and armed forces along with all strata of the Iranian population, the preventive and therapeutic measures are being done rapidly, including the early diagnosis process, tracking persons in contact with the infected patients, quarantine, and treatment of the patients. 

Earlier, the Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei assigned the Armed Forces to work on the necessary methods to prevent a further spread of coronavirus, in addition to the other activities such as treatment of patients and establishment of medical centers like field hospitals and convalescent homes. 

On March 25, a filed hospital and convalescent care center with 2000 beds by the Army of the Islamic Republic of Iran has been inaugurated in Tehran International Exhibition Center with top army officials and Deputy Health Minister Iraj Harirchi in attendance.
