Tehran (IP) - President Hassan Rouhani on Tuesday, following the session of the National Task Force for Fighting Coronavirus, held a video conference with the governors-general of Khorasan Razavi and Tehran regarding the latest developments in the two provinces in terms of efforts to curb the outbreak of the virus and to treat patients.

Iran PressIran News: At the same video conference, Alireza Razm Hosseini, Governor-General of Khorasan Razavi, presented a complete report on the situation in the province and measures taken to prevent the spread of the virus as well as the treatment of patients.

Hassan Rouhani referred to the decision of the National Task Force for Fighting Coronavirus, saying, "The centers and communities that were previously closed will remain closed until April 3”.

Referring to the closing of the shrine of Imam Reza (AS) on pilgrims to prevent the outbreak of the virus, Iran's President thanked Astan Quds Razavi and also clerics, saying, "If the shrine was open, a large crowd would come to visit causing the spread of the virus and endangering lives and then this we would be sorry”.

Rouhani also appreciated the efforts made by the governor-general and other local officials, as well as the medical staff of Khorasan Razavi hospitals and medical centers, saying, "Given the situation in Mashhad, there is a heavy burden on your shoulders and the decline in the number of people in this city means that people followed health advice and cooperated”.

The president expressed hope that the death toll in the province would be reduced day by day.

In another video conference with the Governor-General of Tehran Province Mohsen Bandpei, he presented a report on the situation in Tehran and the measures taken in fighting the virus.

The President said, "Your work in Tehran province with 14 million people is very difficult and important and we are ready to supply your potential needs and shortcomings”.

In response to a request from the Chief of Tehran’s Coronavirus Task Force to allocate a special incentive package to the medical staff, Rouhani said, "The Minister of Health will raise this issue at the meeting of National Task Force for Fighting Coronavirus so that we can decide on it”.
