Dutch Foreign Minister Stef Blok

The Dutch Foreign Minister Stef Blok will travel to Tehran on Friday, February 21st for talks with Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif.

Iran Press/Iran news: During his two-day visit, Stef Blok will discuss bilateral relations, regional developments and international issues with Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif.

The Dutch Foreign Minister will also meet with Iranian President Hassan Rouhani.

Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi visited The Hague three months ago to attend the third round of political talks between Iran and the Netherlands.

In his visit to The Hague, Araqchi met with his Dutch counterpart and Foreign Minister Stef Blok.

Iran and the Netherlands usually hold political talks every six months in the capital of one of the two countries.

Relations between Tehran and Amsterdam have soured in the past few years following tit-for-tat expulsion of diplomats. The Netherlands expelled two Iranian diplomats in June 2018, and Tehran responded in kind, expelling two Dutch diplomats in February 2019.
