Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif and his Dutch counterpart, Sigrid Kaag, exchanged views about ways to promote bilateral relations between the two countries in diverse political and economic fields.

Meeting in Tehran on Wednesday, Iranian and Dutch Foreign Ministers discussed the latest regional and international developments and explored avenues for the development of closer ties between the Islamic Republic and the Western European country in the oil and gas sector as well as parliamentary and banking relations.

During the session, Dutch Foreign Minister voiced her country’s willingness to boost cooperation with Iran’s entrepreneurial companies.

Sigrid Kaag also emphasized that the Netherlands backs the 2015 nuclear deal between Tehran and six world powers, known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), and its implementation.   

The foreign minister of the Netherlands arrived in Tehran on Tuesday night for talks with high-ranking Iranian officials on bilateral, regional and international issues.
