Iran Press/ Iran News: Iran's Health Minister, Saeed Namaki in an interview with IRIB News Agency said: "Fortunately, so far, there have been no reports of new coronaviruses in the region. My colleagues are stationed at 36 entry points of the country round the clock and follow up on any suspicious case. The colleagues quarantine those cases quickly and, if necessary, would hospitalize them. Fortunately, suspicious cases have all been declared negative so far."
Namaki went on to say: "Of course, in a province like Hormozgan, there have been old cases of the MERS virus. MERS virus originating from Saudi Arabia circulates in the region and yet its nature differs from that of Coronavirus."
Iran's health top official stated that the coronavirus' pathogenic potency differs from that of MERS.
He remarked that Iran's Health Ministry has not seen any case of Coronavirus in the country so far, and if a case of coronavirus is observed, it will be notified immediately to the public.
Namaki concluded: "Our advice is to take care of health issues. This virus is less dangerous than N1H1."
