Iran Press/Iran News: The spokesman for Iran's Foreign Ministry Seyyed Abbas Mousavi said on Sunday that Venezuelan Foreign Minister Jorge Arreaza, is going to come to the Iranian capital of Tehran as the head of a high ranking Venezuelan delegation to hold a meetings with Iran's Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif as well as other Iranian top officials.
The two sides are going to discuss topics of mutual interest.
Arreaza, a former vice president, is scheduled to pay a three-day visit to the Islamic Republic on January 19-21.
Earlier in October, Zarif had met with his Venezuelan counterpart in New York on the sideline of the United Nations General Assembly.
On July 20, 2019, Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif traveled to the Venezuelan capital of Caracas to meet with several officials after attending a U.N. session in New York.
In October 2019, Iranian President Hassan Rouhani held a meeting with his Venezuelan counterpart Nicolas Maduro on the sidelines of the Non-Aligned Movement Summit in Baku.
Jorge Alberto Arreaza Montserrat is a Venezuelan politician who has held several important positions in the administration of President Hugo Chávez and his successor Nicolás Maduro.
