Tehran (IP) - Iran's Health Minister Saeed Namaki said that our internal capacity is used to meet the pharmaceutical and medical needs.

Iran Press/Iran News: Saeed Namaki said on Monday at the 25th Razi Medical Science Research symposium in Tehran, "Imports of medicine and medical equipment have dropped from 3 billion 700 million euros a year to 3 billion euros." 

Minister of Health noted, "Thanks to our researchers over 97% of our pharmaceutical needs are produced in Iran," Iran Press reported.

Sorena Sattari, Vice President for Science and Technology said at the ceremony, "Iran owns the largest pharmaceutical companies and the most and also the best biotechnology medicine in the region.

Sattari stated that the indigenizing of products in the field of medicine and medical equipment has led to the development of technology and knowledge in Iran.

The 25th Razi Medical Science Research symposium was attended by the Minister of Health, the Vice President of Science and Technology of Iran, the elites, academics, and researchers, students of Iranian Medical Sciences in the Razi Conference Hall of Iran University of Medical Sciences.
