Iranian and Syrian security chiefs meet in Tehran

The Secretary-General of Iran's Supreme National Security Council (SNSC) said the country's response to the US assassination of Lieutenant General Qasem Soleimani will be a military one, yet it will not be confined to military measures.

Iran Press/Iran News: Receiving his Syrian counterpart Major General Ali al-Mamlook on Sunday, Rear Admiral Ali Shamkhani appreciated the Syrian government and nation for their condolences over the martyrdom of General Soleimani, saying that the US will soon realize that his martyrdom will be far more dangerous to the US than when he was alive.

Referring to the law passed by the Iraqi parliament regarding the deportation of the US troops from Iraq, Admiral Shamkhani said that with the law passed, the continuation of the US presence in Iraq means the occupation of it.

"The US media tried to falsely portray the region's people as happy with the martyrdom of the two popular commanders (Lieutenant General Qasem Soleimani and PMU second-in-command Abul Mehdi al-Muhandis), but the colossal mourning of Iraqi and Iranian nations spoiled their plots," the top security official said.

Shamkhani added that the blood of General Soleimani and al-Muhandis has enhanced the unity of Iraqi and Iranian nations.

The Syrian Supreme National Security Council Chairman Major General Ali al-Mamlook for his part conveyed the Syrian nation, army, and government's message of condolence to the Leader of Islamic Revolution over the martyrdom of General Soleimani.

"Martyr Soleimani belongs to all of the world's freedom-seekers oppression-fighters, and his martyrdom will certainly be a prelude to the liberation of Palestine and the elimination of Israel," he said.
