Secretary of Supreme National Security Council (SNSC) stated that regional coalitions, without the presence of foreigners, can guarantee the security of the region.

Iran PressIran news: "Countries that brought chaos and destruction to the region by launching numerous wars and spreading terrorism, are merely pursuing their own interests," the Secretary of Supreme National Security Council (SNSC) Ali Shamkhani said on Monday in a meeting with Oman's Minister of Foreign Affairs Yusuf bin Alawi bin Abdullah in Tehran, while referring to the failed US efforts to build an international coalition under the pretext of establishing security in the Persian Gulf.

Shamkhani also said the continuation of the war in Yemen is a sign of the aggressive approach of the dominant powers and their regional allies, adding that continuing this genocide is in the interest of the United States and Israel, and Saudi Arabia should pay attention to the will of the Yemeni people and not risk the security of the region.

Omani foreign minister is in Tehran to discuss bilateral, regional and international affairs including Iran’s Hormuz Peace Endeavor (HOPE) and the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) with senior officials in Tehran.

Yusuf bin Alawi also had separate meetings with the Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani and Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif.

Iran and Oman have a long history of good political and economic relations. Their ties have expanded in recent years mainly due to extended banking cooperation.

Oman also acted as an intermediary between Iran and the United States during Barack Obama’s presidency.
