Kermanshah (IP) - Thousands of people along with the officials attended the funeral of a martyred Police officer Major Iraj Javaheri who was martyred by the rioters in the city of Kermanshah, Western Iran.

Iran PressIran news: Major Iraj Javaheri's funeral was held on Monday in Kermanshah, where a large gathering of people along with the officials from the Iranian Army and Government and clerics mourned for his martyrdom. 

They also chanted slogans condemning the recent violence and riots by saboteurs in the previous two days.

During the recent days, some of the Iranian cities have witnessed protests rise in gasoline price, but some saboteurs and rioters attacked public places and destroyed some of the people's property.

The government decided on Friday to cut gas subsidies to fund support for the poor. Gasoline in Iran still remains among the cheapest in the world, despite prices jumping 50%.

On Saturday, President Hassan Rouhani, Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani and Judiciary Chief Seyyed Ebrahim Raisi convened a session of the Supreme Council of Economic Coordination and agreed that all state bodies will fully cooperate in implementing the decision.
