Iran PressIran news: Speaking at a press conference with officials in charge of implementing state livelihood support and gas price reform projects in Tehran on Monday morning, Ali Rabiei said that more than 75 percent of the total population of Iran will benefit from the redistribution of revenues earned from a rise in the price of petrol.

Rabiei also assured the public that the first payment will be made by the government on Monday night.  He also emphasized that all low-income families or individuals who have been left out of the state livelihood support scheme, for whatever reason, should contact relevant departments or ministries and they will be included in the scheme and will benefit from government subsidies.

The government spokesman also lambasted Trump administration officials from trying to pretend that they care about the Iranian people.

"Those who are waging a fully-fledged economic war and economic terrorism against the Iranian people, sanctioning Iran and preventing other countries from doing business with Iran, cannot in any way claim to sympathise or care about the Iranian public," Rabiei said.

Rabiei added: "The US administration wants to apply maximum pressure to the Iranian public, and when the Iranian public demonstrates they say 'we support you'. They are of course fooling nobody with this tactic and the Iranian public is well aware of the disingenuous and dishonest statements by US officials, they know what US officials are up to."

The government spokesman also assured the public that internet services will be back to normal over the next few days.
