Iran Press/ Iran news: 163 Parliamentarians in an open session on Sunday voted in favour of the bill, 17 voted against and 7 MPs abstained from voting. Thus the bill was approved with an overwhelming majority of the 224 MPs attending the session voting for the amendments. Hence articles 1, 7 and 30 of the Law on implementation of the general policies of article 44 of the Constitution will be amended.
The bill, which has 30 articles, seeks to amend some of the provisions of the general policies of article 44 of the Constitution.
According to the Article 44 of the Iranian Constitution, the economic system of the Islamic Republic of Iran shall be based on public, cooperative and private sectors, with proper and sound planning.
The open session of Iranian parliament (Majlis) was held on Sunday morning with Speaker Ali Larijani headed the session. 207/211
