The Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Khamenei in the visit of Pakistan Prime "Imran Khan" and his delegation called the relations between Iran and Pakistan very deep-rooted.

Iran Press/Commentary: The Leader in the meeting held on Sunday evening, while admiring the concerns of the Pakistani government regarding restoring peace and security, referred to West Asia as very sensitive and critical region and stressed the vigilance of all regional states to prevent outbreak of any incident, and expressed regret on the destructive role of some countries in the region in support of terrorist groups in Iraq, Syria and Yemen.

A look at the events of the past few years in the region and ISIS crimes and the US, Saudi Arabia, and Israel-backed terrorists, as well as cruel war against Yemen,  shows that insecurity and war had nothing but destruction, the slaughter of women and children, destruction and sufferings for nations of the region. Ending these insecurities will depend on those who foment tensions and via proxy wars and making crises have provided the ground for foreign interventions in the region.

Iran and Pakistan believe that regional issues should be resolved through dialogue between the countries. Imran Khan by emphasizing this vital issue announced one of the aims of his visit to Tehran is restoring to dialogue to ease tensions in the region.

Iran, Neighbours, and Region; stability and security

The Islamic Republic of Iran believes in good neighborliness and strive for maintaining stability and collective security in the region with the collaboration of all its neighbors and has also presented blueprints regarding the security of the Persian Gulf region and the end of the Yemeni war.

The blueprint for Yemen consists of four phases: a cease-fire, humanitarian aid, Yemenis-Yemenis dialogue and the formation of an inclusive government in Yemen. The Islamic Republic of Iran is now ready to contribute with all relevant stakeholders in a meaningful dialogue for the implementation of this peace initiative.

The remarks of the Leader during the meeting of the Prime Minister of Pakistan in this regard are frank and helpful and will have positive effects on the region.

The Leader noted, "The Islamic Republic of Iran has proposed a four-article plan for finishing the war on Yemen since a long time ago.  The end of this war can have positive effects on the region."

Iran Never Started a War

"The Islamic Republic of Iran has never been the initiator of any war, but if any country begins a war against Iran, it will undoubtedly regret it," the Leader noted.

It is clear that the policy of the Islamic Republic is based on de-escalation and preventing military conflict. Iran believes that regional problems require dialogue based on good faith, ensuring security and development of regional relations.

Accordingly, Hassan Rouhani, Iran's president at a joint press conference with Prime Minister of Pakistan spoke of the alignment of views in the part of both sides regarding the security of the region and stressed that Tehran and Islamabad consider ending the war in Yemen and immediate cease-fire key to resolving regional issues. Pakistani Prime Minister reiterated that in this regard truce in Yemen can be a turning point to start the process of peace and détente in the region and bilateral and multilateral talks.

What is certain is that the only logical way to exit from this situation is to end the Yemeni war and restoring to the approach of engagement, cooperation, and dialogue for the sake of peace. From this perspective, the negotiations of Pakistani Prime Minister on his visit to Tehran, especially important points elaborated by the Leader of the Islamic Revolution on regional issues are of strategic importance to detect and understand the causes of tension and insecurities as well as ways to achieve lasting peace and security in the region.
