Erdogan welcomes Iranian President Rouhani in Ankara in April 2019

President Rouhani told his Turkish counterpart that development of mutual ties among two powerful countries in the region is an important factor for regional stability and security.

Iran Press/Iran news: Speaking in a phone call with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Saturday, President Hassan Rouhani congratulated the Turkish government and nation on the occasion of Eid al-Fitr and said: “Development of relations and cooperation between Iran and Turkey, as two powerful influential countries in the World of Islam, is important for stability and security of the region.”

The two Presidents described relations in different fields as 'positive' and 'developing' and stressed the resolve of both Tehran and Ankara to further deepen relations, President Rouhani's website reported.

Rouhani emphasized on development of economic cooperation with Turkey and using national currencies in Tehran-Ankara trade.

Iran, Turkey can resolve regional, World of Islam issues together

The Iranian President expressed regret over the massacring of civilians in countries such as Sudan, Libya, Yemen and Afghanistan, and said: “Together, we can cooperate with other friendly countries to put an end to this regretful process and resolve the issues of the region and the World of Islam.”

The President also stressed the importance of development of relations and cooperation between Iran and Turkey in fighting terrorism and strengthening security along common borders.

Erdo?an: Development of mutual relations can be beneficial for region

During the phone call, President Recep Tayyip Erdo?an of Turkey also congratulated Eid al-Fitr to the Iranian government and nation, adding, “As two brotherly, friendly countries, cementing of relations between Iran and Turkey can be beneficial for both nations as well as the wider region.”

The President of Turkey also stressed the importance of working harder to develop relations and cooperation between Tehran and Ankara in different fields, especially trade, economy and using national currencies of the two countries.

“Iran and Turkey can play a greater role in combating terrorism and development of regional stability and security by deepening their interaction and cooperation,” he continued.

He went on to describe the unilateral, unjust US sanctions against the Iranian nation and said, "We will never accept these cruel sanctions, and we are looking for development of our friendship and cooperation with Iran." 101/211/205
