Iran's new ambassador to Finland Forouzandeh Vadiati submitted her credentials to the Finnish President Sauli Niinist? on Wednesday.

Iran PressEurope: Forouzandeh Vadiati and  the Finnish President also held a meeting as well.

Forouzandeh Vadiati, was the former Director-General of Human Rights and Woman Affairs Department, in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

Earlier on August 16, the Finnish Foreign Minister Pekka Haavisto, whose country has held the rotating presidency of the European Union, said that Europe does not follow US sanctions on Iran.

Furthermore, on August 19, 2019, Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif in his trip to Finland said that the European country has set out an initiative for dialogue in the Persian Gulf which is almost similar to the plan Iran has earlier offered.

Zarif traveled to Finland to hold talks with the country’s President Sauli Niinisto, as well as the development, cooperation and foreign trade minister Ville Skinnari, and Foreign Minister Pekka Haavisto. 

Discussion topics in the meetings included bilateral relations, international and regional issues, Iran nuclear deal known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), Instrument in Support of Trade Exchanges (INSTEX) and Finland’s presidency of the Council of the European Union.
