British Spox says London not support US sanctions on Zarif

UK's Foreign Ministry office spokesman said that London does not support the US move of putting Iranian Foreign Minister in the sanction list.

Iran Press/Europe: The British FM spokesman said, it is important that diplomatic channels stayed open at the time of increasing tensions.

The US Treasury Department, turning to a chamber of economic war against the Iranian nation, announced on Wednesday that it has put Mohammad Javad Zarif in the department list of sanctions.

The European Union has regretted the US decision, stating that it intends to keep working with the Iranian foreign minister.

The German Foreign Minister also said in a statement that US sanctions on Iran's foreign minister are a violation of diplomatic solutions; declaring that the German, French and British foreign ministers are in regular contact with "Mohammad Javad Zarif" and will continue to do so.

Back on June 24, the US President Donald Trump announced new sanctions against Iran, targeting Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei and top commanders of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC).
