Lieutenant General Qasem Soleimani, who had traveled to Iraq at the official invitation of the Iraqi government, was assassinated in a US drone strike and air-raid in Baghdad on Friday 3 January 2020, along with his colleagues and companions.
Millions of Iranian people attended the funeral processions of the late commander of the IRGC Quds Force in several cities across Iran and in many cities abroad in the first week of Jan 2020 after his martyrdom.
One of the clerics attending the ceremony said Iran ranks first in the fields of science production and has the first rank on scientific growth according to international entities.
The representative of the Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei in India also appreciated the sympathy of the Indian people with the Iranian people for the martyrdom of General Soleimani.
The Iranian ambassador to India also spoke about the effects of the martyrdom of Qasem Soleimani and his companions on the unity of the Islamic world.
Friday Prayers Leader of the biggest mosque in New Delhi also described the US plan so-called 'Deal of the Century' as a treacherous plan.
The endurance of the Iranian people at the height of the sanctions was one of the topics of interest to the young people attending the event.
