Noam Chomsky: US, greatest threat to world peace

Well known American theorist has criticized Washington's policies on Iran and stated that polls from prestigious centers show that America is the biggest threat to world peace.

Iran Press/America: At a New York school on Saturday 4th January, Noam Chomsky explained why he believes the United States is the greatest threat to world peace.

He said that the former Republican Party had now become a "radical rogue" that has abandoned any parliamentary policy.

Chomsky added: "They may succeed in raising sanctions and even secondary sanctions on other countries, and may take other measures to keep Iran out of agreement with the United States."

The American thinker continued: "this does not mean that Iran's nuclear deal is void, this was not an agreement between Iran and the United States, but rather an agreement between Iran and the P5 + 1, which had been ratified by permanent members of Security Council along with Germany.

He added: "the other side of the deal was Iran joining China and India which had already found ways to circumvent US restrictions on interaction with Iran."

If they do so, they will join a large crowd of people in the world in the Non-Aligned Movement, who have strongly supported Iran's right to pursue a peaceful nuclear program as a member of the Non-proliferation Treaty (NPT).

By stating that if other countries continue to commit to the deal which this could happen, America will be isolated in the world, Chomsky added: "If you look at the annual UN General Assembly resolution on Cuba, While this kind of news is not usually published in the US, you will find that the US is fundamentally alone."

The American theorist recalled that Israel recently joined the US because they had to join them. But in the Western Hemisphere, the US has been completely isolated for years.

Chomsky cited Obama's move to improve Cuba's relations with the United States and said: Although Obama moved toward Cuba with a peace-loving gesture, it was because the US was alone.

Referring to the US policy towards the Islamic Republic of Iran, he added: "The reason for US concern is very clear and it has been repeatedly stated that Iran is the biggest threat to peace in the world. This is what we regularly hear from senior officials, commentators, and others in the US."

This American philosopher, referring to surveys by the Gallup Institute and the question of which country poses the greatest threat to world peace, and said: "The answer was clear; the United States with a huge difference with others."

Chomsky emphasized: "This is the reality which is not said, and in fact, the results of US agency surveys are not published in the media we read freely."
