The Al-Shabaab militant group claims to have killed a US soldier following clashes in Somalia.

Iran Press/Africa: The US Africa Command (Africom) has not responded to reports by Al-Shabaab militants that an American soldier was killed during a military operation in Somalia’s Lower Shabelle region.

State media in that country reported that during Tuesday’s overnight operation, carried out by Somali Special Forces supported by Africom, eight Al-Shabaab militants were killed, African News Agency reported.

The Somali National News Agency reported that Somali security forces conducted an overnight operation in Daru Salam village in Lower Shabelle and killed eight members of the Al-Shabaab terrorist group.

Somalia has in recent years faced an insurgency by the Al-Qaeda-linked al-Shabab militant group, as well as famine and maritime piracy.

Moreover, Daesh (ISIS) terrorist group after removing from Iraq and Syria started his activity in African countries, especially in Somalia.

According to many reports, a bloody rivalry erupted between terrorist groups in Somalia as the al-Qaida-linked al-Shabab hunts upstart fighters allied to Daesh, who have begun demanding protection payments from major businesses. 101/211/202
