Poland summoned Israel's ambassador on Friday and threatened to scupper diplomatic summit after reported comments in which Yisrael Katz appeared to accuse the Polish nation of complicity in the so-called Nazi Holocaust.

Iran Press/Europe: Poland called the Zionist envoy Anna Azari for the second time and said doubts remained about what the Zionist Foreign Minister Yisrael Katz said.

Katz’s comments deepened a diplomatic crisis between the two countries, which began on Thursday when the Zionist prime minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, said that Poles cooperated with the Nazis, AFP reported.

The ensuing standoff has overshadowed a summit Netanyahu was due to host on Monday for the V4 group (The Visegrád Group, Visegrád Four, or V4 is a cultural and political alliance of four Central European states) Poland, Czech Republic, Hungary, and Slovakia. It also threatens to derail his efforts to draw alliances with central European nations.

Poland’s absence meant the V4, with only three of the four members attending, the event would be canceled.

Poland’s foreign ministry has summoned the Zionist ambassador twice in three days, and the head of the Polish prime minister’s office, Micha? Dworczyk, said the Israeli foreign minister’s comments were 'disgraceful'.

Katz told the Zionist Army Radio on Monday that he wanted to maintain good relations with Poland but went on to criticize all Poles.

The Polish prime minister, Mateusz Morawiecki, said the remarks were 'unacceptable' and 'racist'.
