Iranian Vice President and Syrian Prime Minister signed bilateral cooperation agreements in various fields to boost relations between two countries.

Iran PressMiddle East: Hours after his arrival to Syrian capital city of Damascus on Monday evening, Es’hagh Jahangiri met with Syrian PM, Imad Khamis and then attended a joint press conference with him.

They also signed several bilateral cooperation agreements, Iran Press reported.

During his two-day visit to Syria, Iranian First VP is expected to hold meetings with Syrian officials to promote cooperation in various political, economic and cultural fields between Iran and Syria.

Jahangiri is slated to meet with Syrian President Bashar al-Assad.

Iran and Syria signed on December an agreement for a long-term strategic cooperation; the agreement constitutes a comprehensive cooperation at the financial and banking levels, and contributes to facilitating trade exchange and overcoming obstacles that hinder upgrading the cooperation between the two countries.

The agreement is under consideration by the expert groups, to be prepared for being signed by Iranian and Syrian presidents. 105/205
