Some 500 Islamic clerics are to take part in the 14th Islamic Ulema conference in Damascus at the end of January.

Iran Press/Middle East: More than 500 Islamic scholars including both Islamic Shia and Sunni figures and Ulema are going to gather in the 14th conference of 'Islamic Ulema' on January 30, 2019, in the Syrian capital of Damascus.

According to Iran Press news agency, hundreds of the Islamic clerics are expected to participate in the event from the countries like the Islamic Republic of Iran, Syria, Lebanon, Palestine, and Jordan.

The Main participants and the keynote speakers of the event are as follows:

Iran's Secretary General of the World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought, Ayatollah Mohsen Araki , Syria's current Minister of Awqaf and religious affairs , Abdul Sattar Alsayed together with the senior clerics from universal; secretariat of fighting against Takfiri and extremist mainstreams, the scholars from the university of religions and theology as well as Lebanon Hezbollah Iran's cultural counsellorship in Lebanon and Syria as well as the Iranian Embassy in Lebanon and Syria , Syria's Ahmed Kuftaro's association and the other outstanding Islamic characters and prestigious religious centers.

The 14th edition of the 'Islamic Ulema' conference is organized by Iran's Leader's office in Syria and through the contribution of Syria's Ministry of Awqaf and religious affairs and the World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought.

Speaking at today's news conference which was held in Iran's cultural counsellorship in Damascus, the secretary of the 14th edition of 'Islamic Ulema' conference, Iran's Hojattol Eslam Naseri stressed the necessity of unity among the followers of the Islamic schools of thought and said that the result would be victory against Takfiri thoughts and ideas.

Referring to the fact that the 40th anniversary of the victory of the Islamic Republic of Iran is approaching, Naseri called Iran's Ayatollah Khamenei's leadership as the symbol of the unity among the Muslims of the world. The senior cleric also went on to emphasize the effectiveness of the Islamic Revolution of Iran's impact in Syria and the triumph of unity over Takfiri idealism.

Furthermore, Syria's spokesman for Ministry of Awqaf and religious affairs, Mahmoud Diab called the events like this as an effective tool to improve unity in the Muslim world. He also appreciated all of the organizers' efforts and contribution to the upcoming conference.

The topics of the 'Islamic Ulema' include:" The meaning of homeland in the Islamic thoughts, the juridical basics and origins of Islamic citizenship, the essential identity and the dependency of the ideological and national origin, the role of Takfiris and the Zionists ranging from destroying the meaning of citizenship to the demolishing land and the axis of resistance and citizenship.105/203
